Spooky events taking over Coventry

The spookiest time of year is here, and Coventry are ready to celebrate. From kids parties to club nights, there is something for everyone happening across the city.

West Orchards

The shopping centre is hosting multiple events for the family covering Halloween weekend. From 9 am Saturday until 4pm Sunday, there will be a craft fair running for the whole family to create some ghoulish crafts.

Saturday will also include trick-or-treating all day, where you can pop into any store and stick your teeth into some free sweets!

Herbert Art Gallery

Curious Creatures and Creepy Crafts is another craft event that is being held in the Herbert Art Gallery. From Tuesday 27th until Saturday 31st October, children from ages 3 to 11 will be able to enjoy creating autumn inspired and spooky crafts, but all are welcome to take part. The craft event pairs with the galleries’ Curious Creatures, Bone & Stones natural history display, and will be on from 10am and 4pm.

St Mary’s Guildhall

Multiple offerings are available to make a spooktastic Halloween at St Mary’s Guildhall. Tales of Tea is being held from the 29th of October until 1st November, it is a Halloween-themed afternoon tea for children. The offering includes foods from finger sandwiches to Halloween cake pops.

Their event that is more suited to an older audience would be The Cursed Guildhall. This includes seeing the return of Gertie the witch and braving an appointment with the Plague Doctor.

Nightlife for students

There are many pubs and bars throughout the city that are holding late night events and parties.

Irish bar, Mister Shenanigans, is hosting ‘Nightmare on Spon Street’, where customers can dress up and enjoy some live entertainment. With fancy dress being encouraged, there will be a prize of a £100 bar tab for the best dressed.

Other places that are having Halloween-themed parties include Elle’s, Millsy’s café bar, Ivy House and Imperial Nightclub.

There are plenty of things taking place across Coventry, in celebration of Halloween. If you currently have no plans for the weekend, this should add something to your calendar.
