Pen, Paper, and Pixels: The Secret Behind Jaguar’s New GT

The Jaguar Type 01 will define a new era for one of Britain’s most loved car manufactures, the new luxury four-door GT represents the essence of Jaguar with exuberant modernist design with a futuristic design that looks like no other electric car.

One significant feature is the ‘impossible panel’, a single, unbroken panel that runs more than 3 meters from the A-pillar to the rear of the Type 01. The computer said no – quite literally when Jaguar programmed it in, so they brought back one of their designs from retirement who using pen and paper worked on the design and then feed this back into the machine.

With Jaguar looking to turn the corner and define a new generation of car culture, the news of a £50m investment launched by Richard Parker (The West Midlands mayor) will not only help Jaguar but also other automotive companies to transform and create more skilled jobs in the electric vehicle section, in the West Midlands. The scheme will run for four years and will help strengthen supply chains in the UK and in turn boost domestic production.
